Bayerngas Energy GmbH and BayWa renewable energy GmbH are launching the new energy efficiency network 4E together with 17 participating companies. The network name 4E stands for "Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency" (Erneuerbare Energien und Energieeffizienz in German) and hence in the network the entire spectrum from energy savings, to efficient use of natural gas to the installation of renewable energy solutions for energy consumption.

The aim of the new network is to realise cost-optimised and sustainable CO2 savings through an intensive exchange of experience between the partners. The network programme has a duration of three years and is moderated by the Research Centre for Energy Economics (FfE) in Munich. Based on an annual monitoring of energy savings realized, a final report is submitted at the end of the programme period. The network is part of the federal initiative of Energy Efficiency Networks.
BayWa r.e. and the Bayerngas Group are committed to cost-efficient CO2 reduction. The link between renewable energies, the exploitation of saving potentials and the efficient use of natural gas describes the path to an effective and sustainable reduction in emissions.

KG, Privatmolkerei Bauer GmbH & Co. KG, Roche Diagnostics GmbH, Schlagmann Poroton GmbH & Co. KG, Südzucker AG, W. L. Gore & Associates GmbH, Weissachmühle GmbH, Wienerberger GmbH.
Bayerngas had already implemented an efficiency network together with industrial customers and FfE between 2013 and 2016, with which emission savings of 73,000 (thousand) metric tons of CO2 were achieved. This corresponds to the CO2 emissions of around 18,000 households.
